If you have tested your PdG levels with Proov, you probably know that we like to see positive test results days 7-10 after suspected ovulation. Positives on all four days during the testing window confirm that successful ovulation has occurred - meaning that ovulation was healthy and provided the best chance at successful conception. However, it is not uncommon for women to only get 2 positive Proov tests or maybe a couple that are very close but not quite positive, indicating they may not have had a successful ovulation.
But not to worry! There are so many easy ways to promote a hormone balance and increase PdG to help you get four positive Proov tests in a row, including these yummy seed bites - a Proov team favorite!
What are seed bites?
Seed bites are small, no-bake energy balls, packed with protein and hormone-balancing ingredients. This recipe contains raw pumpkin and flax seeds which help balance estrogen levels during the follicular phase, making these tasty bites perfect for the first phase of seed cycling! These seed bites also call for pumpkin, which is a great food to incorporate into your diet to help support progesterone production.
How do I make them?
We love these seed bites because they are so simple and can be made in large batches! Here’s what you need:
- 2 cups oats
- 1 cup steel cut oats
- ¾ cup flax seeds
- ¾ cup pumpkin seeds
- 1 15 oz. can of pumpkin
- ½ cup peanut butter
- ¼ cup honey
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
Step 1: Add the dry ingredients - oats, steel cut oats, flax seeds, and pumpkin seeds - to a large bowl. Mix until combined.
Step 2: Next, add the wet ingredients to the bowl - pumpkin, peanut butter, and honey. Mix until combined.
Step 3: Fold the chocolate chips into the mixture.Â
Step 4: Start rolling the mixture into small round bites with your hands. One batch should make about 24 bites. Place them on wax paper or trays. Store extras in the refrigerator in a sealed container, but be sure to separate the bites with wax paper so they don’t stick together!
Step 5: Enjoy! Proov founder, Amy, likes to have two seed bites with her morning coffee!
