Our friends at Fertility Cloud have mastered virtual fertility treatment.

In a world where so much of our life has shifted online (thanks, COVID-19), we’re still getting used to this “new normal.” We can now order groceries, shop, and even host parties, all from the comfort of our computers.

We can also see our doctors virtually. While this concept is still new to many people, the ability to see our doctors virtually offers more flexibility and less waiting for that in-person appointment. Our friends at Fertility Cloud have mastered virtual fertility treatment and today, we’re going to show you how they can help you move forward on your fertility journey faster.

What is Fertility Cloud?

Essentially, Fertility Cloud is a virtual fertility clinic. Their telehealth platform allows you to pursue fertility evaluation and treatment for you and your partner, right from the comfort of your home.

With Fertility Cloud, you can meet with U.S. licensed, board-certified fertility specialists. Doctors can provide consultations, diagnostic tests, and proper treatment (if necessary) completely remotely.

You’ll get a full, individualized treatment plan from Fertility Cloud, including consultations, follow-up appointments, at-home fertility tests, medications, supplements, and tools to help you track your cycle. All medications and tests are delivered directly to your door by a specialty fertility pharmacy.

What services does Fertility Cloud offer?

Through our partnership with Fertility Cloud, you can get one of two main consultations (10 minutes or 30-minutes) after testing with Proov. Note that you will need a full cycle of Proov testing data to present to your doctor so they can help you interpret your results and determine best next steps.

10-minute consultation

In a 10-minute consultation, a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist will interpret your Proov test results and help you determine the best next steps, such as a prescription for a hormone supplement, if medically appropriate. The 10-minute consultations are based solely on your Proov tests results.

You’ll also have the option to schedule follow-up appointments if you’d like to explore further options outside of just your Proov test results.

30-minute consultation

A 30-minute consultation, on the other hand, offers a more holistic and complete view of you and your partner’s fertility. In this appointment, a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist will look at the full medical history of both partners, along with Proov test results to recommend further testing or treatment options.

If you choose to pursue further testing and treatment, you’ll then have the ability to schedule follow-up appointments with your Fertility Cloud doctor to continue monitoring your cycle.

How is Fertility Cloud different from other online resources?

Unlike other online fertility clinics or prescription websites, Fertility Cloud offers a complete approach to your fertility treatment, including continued support and the access to their medical staff. While other sites simply provide prescriptions, Fertility Cloud ensures you have the right tools in your fertility toolbox in order to reach your goals faster as well as being there when you have a question or concern related to your undergoing treatment.

With one-on-one consultations with doctors, you can make sure you get a treatment plan that is best for you and your partner. It’s important to have a full look at your fertility before blindly adding supplements or medications.

A Fertility Cloud doctor will ensure you take the correct tests in order to determine what course of treatment is best for you. There are actually many risks associated with treating before testing — such as creating an even bigger hormonal imbalance — which is why working with a credible, trusted doctor can help you ensure you’re taking the correct medications.

Additionally, Fertility Cloud can help you monitor your care on the way to your positive pregnancy test. As we take different tests and try new treatments, it’s always best to be continuously monitored by a doctor who can help you adjust your plan in real time, if needed.

During my infertility journey, it was difficult for me to get a hold of my doctors and ask them questions. Virtual appointments would have been much more convenient for me and would have given me more direct access to my doctor.

There are so many resources on the internet to help you educate yourself. While Dr. Google and online forums are a great place to start, nobody knows your medical history or unique situation like your doctor. Having a more-accessible reproductive endocrinologist at your fingertips is an invaluable resource and something I wish I could have had many years ago.

How can I be best prepared for my Fertility Cloud consultation?

If you’ve decided to schedule a consultation with Fertility Cloud, then congrats! You’ve made the first step in the right direction towards reaching your fertility goals.

While we believe having a trusted doctor by your side is important, we also know that these appointments can be stressful and intimidating. Here are a few tips to help set you up for success:

1. Come prepared

During your consultation, you only have limited time to get the most valuable information possible. To maximize your time, we recommend sitting down with your partner before you consultation to gather the following information:

  • All potential questions you may have
  • You and your partner’s full medical history
2. Bring your Proov test results

As we mentioned, Fertility Cloud doctors are familiar with Proov and the Proov Insight app. The first step to getting treatment is having a better idea of where you stand, so the more information you can bring to your consultation the better.

To get the most out of your consultation, we recommend completing at least one full cycle of Proov Confirm testing. Proov Confirm PdG tests are the first and only FDA cleared tests to confirm successful ovulation at home.

A full cycle of PdG test data will give you and your doctor a better idea of the overall success of your ovulation. Weak ovulation (i.e. low PdG levels after ovulation) can make it more difficult to successfully conceive. But, if that’s an issue for you, the fix is often simple!

3. Advocate for yourself

Above all, remember that these appointments are about you. While your doctor is the expert in medicine, you are the expert in you and nobody knows your body better!

Don’t be afraid to ask the tough questions and trust your gut — the outcome might surprise you.

The Proov team is so excited to partner with Fertility Cloud to offer full fertility support at-home and straight to your door! What are you waiting for? Take the next step and schedule your fertility consultation today!
